Plan a market entry

Is your brand ready for a China-market pilot?

The first decision is not which platform to buy. It is whether your team can run a small, interpretable test without losing control of claims, accounts or customer follow-up.

Open the worksheet
Evidence, controlled pilot and review connected as a China-entry decision route
Who this is forFor overseas, Japanese, Korean and Taiwan brand teams considering a first or restarted China-market route.

Check your evidence.

For each item, select 0 for unresolved, 1 for a named plan without verified evidence, or 2 for evidence checked by its owner. If a platform is deliberately out of scope, 2 requires a written reason and an alternative route. Answers stay in this browser tab and are not saved or sent.

01Category fit

A named buyer, a use case, local alternatives and a reason to choose your offer—not just market size.

02Entity and account routeMust be verified before launch

An eligible account route has been checked for the exact market/category, with ownership, administrator roles and recovery documented. Do not assume one approval covers every platform.

03Trademark and claimsMust be verified before launch

Brand-use rights and product claims have named evidence owners; material legal questions are reviewed by qualified advisers. Missing rights are a stop flag, not a copywriting task.

04Xiaohongshu (RedNote) fit

Three buyer questions and credible product/use-case evidence that can become useful notes, or a documented reason not to use the platform.

05Douyin fit

A repeatable demonstration or story, production access and a next action; or a justified choice to defer video. Both platforms are not mandatory.

06Localization

Chinese buyer language, price/currency context, image rights and a local review owner—not just a translated global campaign.

07Creator strategy

Choose the evidence role, selection criteria, rights and commercial-disclosure route before the creator count. A justified no-creator test can also be ready.

08Paid-test design

A hypothesis, capped spend, stop rule and separate paid/organic reporting. Choosing zero paid spend is valid when the learning plan explains why.

09Inquiry handoffMust be verified before launch

A tested response route with an owner, reply window, product/price information and privacy handling. Test it before buying attention.

10Budget readiness

A total loss cap that includes production, creators, media and follow-up; an approver; and money reserved to respond to what the pilot teaches.

1190-day pilot

A sequence of readiness, launch, learning and a day-90 decision, with named owners and evidence—not an automatic promise to scale.

12Risk flags and exit

An escalation owner and pause criteria for rights, complaints, fulfillment, account restrictions and overspend, including how access and records return to the brand.

A 90-day pilot is a sequence of decisions.

A suggested sequence, not a delivery promise: days 1–15 verify the route and baseline; days 16–45 test a small set of messages; days 46–75 compare audience questions and inquiry quality; days 76–90 choose to extend, narrow, change channel or stop. Keep the original hypothesis beside the review so the goalposts do not move.

A high score can still contain a stop flag.

The score is the sum of 12 equally weighted answers divided by 24. Below 50 suggests readiness work; 50–79 suggests a narrowly scoped test; 80–100 supports discussing a pilot. These cutoffs are ZEHUA planning heuristics, not validated predictions. If account, rights or inquiry handoff is scored 0 or 1, resolve that evidence gap before launch regardless of the total.

How we built this

ZEHUA designed this checklist by separating platform access, brand evidence and commercial execution. The three hard gates protect whether a test can be operated responsibly; they do not certify compliance. Platform references establish that the available routes differ. The scoring and 90-day sequence are our own planning framework.

Where it stops

Not legal, tax or investment advice, a platform approval, or a forecast of sales. Account and category rules must be reconfirmed at application. No answer data is collected; refreshing the page clears the selection. Print only on a device you trust.
